The Department of Immunology contributes to the Course of Biotechnology, which is offered to Vietnamese graduate students at the Joint Education and Training Center “Hanoi – Greifswald”.

The advanced course prepares Vietnamese graduates for the admission to the PhD program of the Greifswald Graduate School of Science. It is a one year full-time program and takes place at the Hanoi University of Natural Sciences Nguyen Trai Rd. After passing an entrance examination, the students first take part in a 6-week Spring School of Biotechnology with faculty members of the University of Greifswald. Members of the Department of Immunology offer the 30 h course “Basic Immunology”.

The advanced course of biotechnology further includes language tuition in English and German, a written paper and a final examination. Successful candidates can then apply for admission to the Research Phase of the Greifswald Graduate School of Science. If accepted they engage in full-time research at the University of Greifswald to obtain a PhD degree (Dr. rer. nat.).
