How to Become a Teaching Physician

The Department of General Practice welcomes additional general practitioners (family doctors, internists practicing as family doctors, practical physicians) to strengthen our network of teaching practices. Are you interested in and enjoy introducing medical students in their 2nd clinical year to the field of General Practice, for example, during a two-week internship (Blockpraktikum)? This is possible as an academic teaching practice.

The basic requirements for accreditation as an academic teaching practice are:

  • Focus of practical activity on standard general practice care, oriented towards scientifically sound treatment concepts.

  • Suitable premises, e.g. a separate treatment room for the students.

  • Accessibility of the practice for students from Greifswald by public transport or accommodation options in the immediate vicinity.

If you meet these requirements and enjoy training students and our field of General Practice, we would be very pleased if you would contact us to discuss further details.

After final accreditation as an academic teaching practice, you will receive a certificate for display in your practice premises.
