EAGER

Evaluation of Effectiveness of Ambulatory Geriatric Rehabilitation (EAGER)

Project lead: Prof. Dr. Jean-François Chenot, MPH; Prof. Dr. Carsten Oliver Schmidt

Project researcher: Dr. Simone Kiel, MSc.

The proportion of elderly and people with multiple morbidities requiring outpatient or inpatient treatment is going to increase over the coming years. The outpatient geriatric complex treatment ("ambulante geriatrische Komplexbehandlung" (AGKB)), a comprehensive care programme introduced by the AOK, offers outpatient intervention close to home to prevent falls and to improve independence. This way, hospital or nursing home admissions can hopefully be prevented.

The aim of the project is to evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of the AGKB within the framework of a matched case-control study.

The project EAGER is concluded.
