Epidemiology of morphological thyroid changes and their management

Thyroid operations are among the most common operations and thyroid medications are among the leading drug groups in Germany. Due to the frequency of morphological thyroid changes and their economic relevance, it is important to identify groups of people with an increased risk of medical overtreatment.
The aim of the project is to map the epidemiology and effects of morphological thyroid changes over a period of 10 years as well as variability in care and to run an evaluation of the recommendations for the management of thyroid diseases.
The project "Epidemiology of morphological thyroid changes and their management" is not yet fully finished.
