National Healthcare Guidelines
The programme for National Health Care Guidelines (NVL) is a joint initiative of the German Medical Association ("Bundesärztekammer"), the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians ("Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung") and the Association of Scientific Medical Societies ("Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Wissenschaftlichen Medizinischen Fachgesellschaften") for the promotion of quality improvement in medicine. The operational implementation and coordination of the NVL programme is carried out by the ÄZQ.
