Profile

I am a researcher at the Medical Informatics department at the University Medicine Greifswald. My scientific origin is Databases and Information Systems, in combination with Systems Biology. I strive to foster the reproducibility and reusability of computational biology models with the help of database techniques, mainly graph databases.

Projects

Research

At the UMG my research goal is to integrate different data domains and sources, from biological computational models via biomedical ontologies to medical data – ultimately to bridge the gap between Systems Biology and Medical Informatics. To achieve this, I build a management system for models and accompanying data, which is constantly being extended to incorporate or interface new data sources.

Having a graph database at hand, I am also interested in graph algorithms and how to expand, adopt and extend them to help with data integration and harmonization.
