Berlin – If patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) take part in a precision medicine programme, this improves their prognosis. They are also more likely to receive a targeted first-line therapy for their disease.
According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, 1,200 GPs work in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. A third of them are 60 years or older. A successor is often uncertain. Medical care centres are unable to fill the gaps. In addition, more and more doctors prefer permanent employment to setting up a practice. (NDR)
