Development and validation of measurement instruments

In (clinical) epidemiological and population-based intervention studies, it is relevant to record and evaluate health-related variables comprehensively, validly, and reliably. Our work focuses on the development, evaluation, and optimization of instruments in intervention and population studies. For example, we use a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods (mixed methods) in the development of questionnaires or machine learning for item selection. For psychometric evaluations and assessments, we apply various methods of latent variable and structural equation modeling, including confirmatory factor analysis or latent change score modeling in longitudinal designs.
