Urogynaecology

Functional disturbances or diseases of the pelvic floor are a common and growing problem in the course of demographic change in our society. According to the latest studies, in the course of her life about every second woman falls ill with a functional impairment of the pelvic floor which is in need of treatment.

Treatment / Therapy

DIAGNOSTICS

  • Medical history, micturition diary, using validated questionnaires
  • Gynaecological exam
  • Pelvic floor assessment
  • Functional diagnostics (ultrasound, urodynamic measurement, urethrocystoscopy)

THERAPY

Conservative therapy

  • Drug therapy
  • Pessary therapy
  • Micturition training
  • Pelvic body training and specialised physiotherapy
  • Biofeedback and electrostimulation

Operative therapy: abdominal and vaginal procedures

  • Urinary incontinence surgery
    • Tension-free, suburethral vaginal bands (TVT, TOT) colposuspension as per BURCH paraurethral injection therapy
  • Descensus surgery
    • Anterior and posterior colporrhaphy
    • Vaginaefixatio sacrospinalis as per Amreich-Richter
    • Vaginal mesh repair (mesh inserts)
    • Abdominal sacrocolpopexy (open and laparoscopic)
